Madison Wildlife

We were approached by Steve Brown Apartments to design and paint a mural on the side of their 10 story building downtown Madison. The idea behind the art was to include native wildflowers and wildlife that visually tell a story about Madison, Wisconsin.

Working Within a Grid

An advantageous feature of this wall is that it naturally have a grid system of 4’ wide x 8’ tall panels. We used these panels to lay out our more intricate grid system of 2’x2’ squares.

Initial Layout

With the grid system in place, we were ready to transfer our design onto the wall.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

The wall spanning 60’ wide, we utilized a set of 30’ wide swing stages to navigate the wall. With 3 people per stage, we were able to have to have 6 people working on the wall at a time.

Almost Done!

Here, we are about 80% done. Ultimately, it took the team 15 days straight to paint the entire wall.
